Beware! Not all straight, pro style handles on the market today are made the same! Many pro style handles are manufactured in China where they are made using separate parts for the collars which are welded to the handle. Then the welds are machined off smooth to make it appear like a solid one-piece handle. While this saves machining time and material costs, and thus are cheaper to buy, the collars break away from the handles easily. When the welds between the collars and the handle itself are machined down smooth, it greatly weakens what is left of the welds. It doesn't take much to crack the welds when a dumbbell is dropped, or slammed to the floor. The heavier the dumbbell, the easier the welds break. It actually costs more in the long run because handles must be replaced when the collars break off.

Our handles are machined from one solid piece of steel so there are no separate collar rings to break off.
